Job summary

Weareedenbrook, a growing MGA, is hiring an Assistant Underwriter to join the W&I team in London. This role suits someone with 1–3 years’ insurance experience who wants to build a career in transactional risk alongside experienced underwriters in a growing, entrepreneurial business.

You will support underwriting of W&I and other transactional risk opportunities, review submissions, assist with risk assessment, pricing and recommendations, and work closely with brokers, clients and solicitors.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years' experience within insurance.
• Experience in W&I, Title, Legal Indemnity, Cyber or D&O classes.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience in a smaller MGA, insurer or underwriting agency would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the underwriting of W&I and other transactional risk opportunities.

• Assist with risk assessment, policy analysis, pricing and the preparation of underwriting recommendations.

• Support senior underwriters with portfolio management and ongoing risk assessment.
• Contribute to the development of underwriting processes, documentation and best practice.
• Maintain a strong understanding of W&I market trends and emerging risks.
• Ensure underwriting decisions are made in line with the company's appetite and governance framework.
• Take ownership of tasks and contribute to the wider development of the business.
