Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Utility Worker 2 to support loading/unloading of raw materials and maintain cleanliness of the plant and equipment.

The role involves operating high pressure hoses, maintaining equipment, and assisting with general labor tasks in a facility with varying temperatures. The position requires 18+ years of age and 2+ years’ experience with industrial machinery; a CDL-B with tanker endorsement is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 2+ years of experience with industrial/plant machinery; rendering equipment preferred.
• High school diploma preferred.
• CDL “B” license with tanker endorsement is a plus.
• Able to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate high pressure hose to wash parking lot, plant equipment and surrounding areas.
• Paint and wash plant equipment and building fixtures as necessary.
• Use standard hand tools and power tools.
• Operate company vehicles around plant and property.
• Ensure steady flow of raw material from trailers to dock in a safe, efficient manner.
• Check and report the condition of raw material load and truck interior.
• Perform general labor tasks including janitorial cleaning and vehicle washing.
• Maintain safety as a top priority per company safety rules and regulations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Paints and washes plant equipment and building fixtures as necessary.
• Required to use standard hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, wrenches, etc.) and power tools (drills, impact drivers, saws, etc.)
• Operates company vehicles around plant and property.

• Job functions will be carried out in a facility which requires tolerance for high heat and/or cold temperatures.
