Job summary

SOCOTEC UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Utility Surveyor based in the Midlands, Coventry area, to deliver accurate mapping across projects. The role involves working with advanced GPR equipment, travel across the UK, and collaboration with site teams and clients.

You'll mentor junior surveyors, support project managers, and contribute to data quality and CAD delivery. A full UK driving licence and PAS 128 knowledge are essential; CSCS and NVQ Level 3 are preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge and experience of underground utility tracing and GPR
• Experience across a wide variety of environments and complex surveys
• Ability to post-process GPR data
• Working knowledge of PAS 128:2014 surveys
• Ability and willingness to work flexibly
• A full UK manual driving licence
• CSCS Card

Responsibilities

• Conducting GPR and Utility Mapping surveys using cutting-edge equipment
• Undertake investigative utility surveys and conduct paperwork in accordance with company procedures
• Engage with other site surveyors, contractors, suppliers, clients
• Create Utility Survey Reports
• Carry out appropriate quality control checks and issue data to CAD
• Check all survey drawings before they are issued to our customer
• Mentor and train Trainee & Junior Surveyors, as required
• Provide technical support to Project Managers and internal staff members

Are you an experienced Utility Surveyor looking to advance your career in a dynamic and supportive environment? Based in the midlands, we are seeking a skilled professional to join our team, helping deliver accurate and reliable utility mapping and survey services across a variety of projects. The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):

• Conducting GPR and Utility Mapping surveys using cutting‑edge equipment

Travel across the UK is very common. Candidates must be open to working away from home during the week and accommodate night or evening shifts as needed.

Salary: £26,994–£39,991 per annum, depending on experience. Enhanced rates are paid for night shifts, with additional earning opportunities through optional weekend shifts.
