The Meter Installation Technician is responsible for installing meters at utility locations. Key responsibilities include managing daily work schedules, overseeing meter accountability, working within a Work Order Management system, removing old meters, and installing new meters for residential and commercial use. This role involves significant public interaction and outdoor work.

Core duties include:

• Removing old electric meters and installing new ones
• Performing meter change-outs according to specified procedures
• Managing work through a Work Order system
• Handling inventory of meters
• Collaborating with utility personnel and consumers
• Using a company truck responsibly

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Background check and drug screening clearance
• Valid driver's license
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical principles
• Computer skills including PC operation, mobile applications, email, and navigation systems
• Professional demeanor and strong communication skills for interacting with the public, utility, and team members
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight four to five weeks per schedule
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently; good vision including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, handle objects, and perform physical activities as required

Work Requirements:

• Experience in electrical or utility line work is required
• On-the-job training provided before independent work
• Travel and overnight stays are mandatory
• High school diploma or equivalent

Work Schedule:

• Full-time, Monday to Friday, first shift
