Coca-Cola HBC is seeking a Utilities Engineer to lead initiatives for efficiency and sustainability at our Knockmore Hill manufacturing site. Responsibilities include overseeing utilities operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing maintenance activities. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in utilities engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and a Lean Six Sigma certification. Provide analysis and lead continuous improvement initiatives in the area of utilities to support CCHBC on our journey to be industry leaders in efficiency and sustainability. This will include understanding and supporting 24/7 operations and management of utilities including boreholes, water treatment, boilers, cooling towers, and power including sustainable energy sources.
· Ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operation of utilities required for our Knockmore Hill manufacturing site.
· Supervise and maintain all utilities equipment (wells, WWT, boilers room, compressors room, ventilation, chillers) and network (raw water, cooling/heating circuits, compressed air, gases).
· Coordinate preventive maintenance, corrective and reactive, respecting the recommended technologies and responding to the quality of coordinated interventions.
· Drive analytics and strategy for continuous improvement in utilities.
· Lead development of a sustainability plan regarding water and energy efficiency.
· Support management in running an efficient 24/7 operation.
· Keep accurate electronic and paper records to comply with the company’s internal systems, procedures, and local regulations.
· Ensure preventive maintenance planning aligns with site output requirements.
· Submit internal and external reports timely.
· Perform and train the team on inspections and planned maintenance activities on equipment such as absorption chillers, heat recovery steam generators, etc.
· Ensure accuracy of records related to plant operations.
· Minimize operating costs while maintaining high standards of plant operation.
· Ensure CHP + water treatment plants comply with licenses and environmental requirements.
· Interact professionally with external agencies, representing CCHBC interests.
· Lead problem-solving efforts including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
· Ensure compliance with site 5S standards.
· Manage contractors and H+S in service areas, including risk assessments and SOP creation.
· Deputise for the IOI services and facilities lead and site CHP lead.
· Minimum 3 years of experience in utilities engineering, including automated boiler systems, water treatment, and cooling plants.
· Experience with renewable energy projects and sustainability initiatives.
· Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; computer literacy.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
· Experience supervising contractors for routine and breakdown maintenance.
· Knowledge of regulatory standards in Northern Ireland.
· Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or above.
· Experience with food safety standards in utilities plants.
· Knowledge of maintenance methods, materials, tools, and equipment for modern utilities operations.
· Experience with engineering service systems and quality operating procedures.
