Utilities Project Manager - Leiston, IP16, UK

Join Sizewell C, a major infrastructure project in the UK, as a Utilities Project Manager. This role is based in Leiston (5 days onsite, with plans to move to Ipswich next year), offering a permanent, full-time position with a salary of £60,000 - £67,500 per annum, and attractive benefits including a 5% CIP bonus, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays, contributory pension, and ongoing professional development.

About the Project: Sizewell C is a pivotal part of the UK’s clean energy revolution, backed by EDF and the UK Government. It aims to deliver sustainable energy through a new nuclear power plant in Suffolk.

The Role: The Utilities Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of utilities contracts or work packages, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget constraints. Responsibilities include managing activities related to utilities such as telecommunications, potable water, foul water, natural gas, and power, across multiple sites. The role involves planning, procurement, construction, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage utilities project activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
• Define work scope and deliver within scope, complying with relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones.
• Oversee contractors and subcontractors, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Engage with stakeholders and develop strategies to improve project safety and delivery.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience in utilities, civil engineering, or construction sectors.
• Knowledge of utility services and project management operations.
• Understanding of safe digging practices, BWIC, and CDM regulations.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• IT proficiency in MS Office; desirable skills include CAD, Microsoft Project, and certifications like SMSTS, Water Hygiene, and New Roads & Streetworks Act.
