Job summary

Vistry Merseyside & Cheshire West is seeking a Utilities Manager to oversee utility connections, act with statutory authorities and manage third‑party works from viability through to completion. You will handle quotes, assist commercial colleagues to place orders and coordinate off-site and on-site works to minimise risk and maximise gross profit.

You will support the contracts with SHE compliance, cost control and timely delivery while maintaining high quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Utilities legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience on projects delivering services for the housebuilding sector.
  • Understanding the process to secure POCs and service diversion works.
  • Understanding the process of securing services to new developments.
  • Detailed understanding of all technical aspects of service delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills across stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with MS software.
  • Demonstrates resilience and ability to work extra to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide utility information for appraisal of new business opportunities.
  • Ensure utility orders are placed and installed to programme.
  • Agree strategy with construction team for completion of utility connections.
  • Support procurement of MEP packages via enquiries, scopes and quotations.
  • Communicate each project’s utility programme to stakeholders.
  • Review comments/queries on service design with M&E Design Manager.
  • Support the Commercial team in reviewing payment applications.
  • Ensure required certifications for connections (PC/completion).
  • Manage meter applications and installation to programme.
  • Develop and implement test/inspection regimes for all stages and commissioning strategy.
