We are an integral member of the utilities industry, a joint-venture company undertaking electricity, sewer, telecoms, roads and, water works, civil engineering, fibre cable installations etc. throughout Northern Ireland and the UK.
UTILITIES DIGGER OPERATOR
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced and reliable utilities digger operator to work within our NIE Contract in the Greater Belfast and Co. Down areas. Using both mechanical and hand-digging techniques your tasks will be undertaken on the public highways, building sites and private residential land.
REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience of excavation works within the utility industry on a similar contract is required
Full UK driving licence with towing (C1E or BE)
Valid CSR Card (we will help with expired cards)
Streetworks Accreditation (Preferred but not essential)
Valid 360 excavator Qualification
Core hours: 07:00am - 16:30pm Monday - Friday (overtime is available on evenings and weekends)
Benefits: 28 days holiday / company pension / ongoing training
Salary is negotiable and based on experience
For the right person, career progression is achievable
About The Role
THE ROLE
· Ensuring all works undertaken are safe and in line with industry best practice
· Risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on Health and Safety practices.
· Set up site and remove site. Chapter 8.
· Demonstrate an excellent level of customer engagement.
· A considerate approach to colleagues and the public. Minimise disruption from the site to the local community
· Ability to read utility plans and drawings plus the ability to review and understand work instructions.
· Ability to communicate and work well within a team.
· Working on highways with pedestrians and live traffic.
You will be responsible for your own vehicle, which includes daily walk around checks before leaving the yard
