About the role

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Utilities Co-ordinator to join our A57 Mottram project in Manchester.

As a Regional Utilities Co-ordinator, you will ensure project compliance with BB Internal Business Management Systems (BMS) for working near utilities. Your responsibilities include producing and monitoring utility permits and liaising with utility companies for diversions.

What you'll be doing

  1. Producing, auditing, approving, and monitoring Permits to Dig as per PAS128.
  2. Working with the construction team to ensure permits are in place before work begins and are clearly marked.
  3. Liaising with utility owners to secure necessary permissions.
  4. Supporting the Utilities Manager/Regional Utilities Lead to ensure compliance with internal systems and industry best practices.
  5. Promoting site awareness of Utilities policies and BMS requirements.
  6. Assisting with Management System audits in collaboration with the audit team.
  7. Having extensive experience in scanning and marking out utilities to support the utilities engineer.
  8. Assisting in ensuring utility diversions are completed on time and within budget.

Who we're looking for

  1. BSc in a relevant field (preferred).
  2. Valid CSCS Card.
  3. Extensive knowledge of scanning and marking out utilities as per PAS128.
  4. Strong team player with good communication skills.
  5. Previous experience in a similar utilities role (preferred).
  6. Experience with highways and construction requirements.
  7. Knowledge of working around utilities and Permit to Dig systems.
  8. Experience supporting site teams to achieve first-time right results.
