Job description

Looking for Advanced Care Practitioners with a background in unscheduled Emergency/Urgent Care to work in any of the three UCCs - Northwick Park, Central Middlesex, and Ealing Hospitals.

We are building a team of both ECPs & ACPs to create a dynamic workforce. UTC and ED have a close working relationship, and we can offer shifts in the ED if desired. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified ACPs to join our team. If you are seeking a less intense environment than ED, the UCC setting could be an ideal alternative.

Professional backgrounds (e.g., Nurse, Paramedic, etc.) working at the HEE definition of advanced clinical practice will:

  1. Practice autonomously as part of the GP workforce roster for urgent and emergency treatments and be self-directed;
  2. Undertake assessments of individuals using various methods, including physical examinations, diagnostic tests, and health needs assessments;
  3. Use a diverse knowledge base to make evidence-based decisions, including prescribing medication and monitoring therapeutic outcomes;
  4. Be vital in providing urgent and emergency care across the UTCs at LWNH, working alongside experienced clinicians to deliver assessments, diagnostics, and patient care in a fast-paced setting;
  5. Help bridge urgent care and other medical specialties, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions;
  6. Contribute to redesigning clinical pathways and exploring digital tools to enhance patient experience.
  7. London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) cares for Brent, Ealing, Harrow, and beyond, with over 8,200 staff serving nearly one million people.

    Our major acute services include:

  • Northwick Park Hospital: home to one of the busiest emergency departments and a top-rated hyper-acute stroke unit;
  • St Mark’s Hospital: a renowned specialist centre for bowel disease;
  • Ealing Hospital: a busy district general hospital with a 24/7 emergency department and urgent care centre;
  • Central Middlesex Hospital: hosting surgical and outpatient services and an urgent care centre.

We are a university teaching NHS trust committed to training future clinicians and advancing research.
