Job description

User Researcher - hybrid (Manchester or Newcastle)

The User Researcher will work within an agile scrum team to define, plan, and conduct user research aimed at building team empathy to create positive outcomes and experiences for both internal and external users. They will lead the scoping, planning, conducting, and analyzing of research by creating research plans, protocols, and activities using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-method approaches. They will analyze and synthesize research findings to translate insights into user needs and opportunities, communicating compelling user insights to the product owner, team, and wider stakeholders. They will contribute research findings to support evidence-based product and design decisions and will champion the user to ensure the product delivers value.

Essential skills and experience

Experience in planning, scoping, conducting, analyzing, and communicating user research throughout the Agile product development lifecycle. Proficiency in qualitative user research methods including usability testing, ethnographic observation, interviews, surveys, contextual inquiry, and focus groups. Experience working within an Agile scrum team, collaborating with designers, product owners, developers, and other researchers to prioritize research opportunities supporting the product roadmap in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Ability to translate research findings into specific, prioritized recommendations to improve product designs.
