User Researcher - Permanent - £60,000-£70,000 + Benefits

Location: Hybrid working with commutable access to one of our UK offices (base location will be agreed individually). London, Birmingham, Newcastle, Edinburgh.
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £60,000-£70,000 per annum + comprehensive benefits package

About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced and driven User Researcher to help shape user-centred digital services that meet the real needs of the public. Working in a collaborative environment, you'll plan and execute research that informs accessible, inclusive, and effective service design aligned with UK Government standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end user research activities for public-facing digital services
  • Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including usability testing and user interviews
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations to inform design and delivery
  • Embed user-centred design approaches across agile teams and ensure inclusivity throughout the research process
  • Produce deliverables in line with the Government Service Standard and contribute to service assessments

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in user research within a public sector context
  • Strong understanding of UK Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and their practical application
  • Confident communicating findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Skilled in research tools and methodologies suited to iterative development and Agile delivery
  • Passionate about creating equitable and accessible digital experiences for diverse audiences
