User Researchers at Made Tech collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to understand societal challenges and inform the design of public services. They conduct research activities with real people, ensuring insights directly influence service design.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to research scoping to inform the design of useful, usable public services with successful outcomes
• Apply qualitative and quantitative research methods appropriately
• Assist senior researchers on research projects when needed
• Conduct research that makes participants comfortable sharing personal information
• Interpret and apply basic analysis techniques to research data to produce actionable insights
• Create research reports, presentations, and facilitate knowledge sharing
• Engage entire teams in research to foster understanding and empathy
• Promote good research sharing practices within teams
• Contribute to defining Made Tech’s design principles through effective service delivery
• Experience with user-centered, lean, and agile research methodologies such as usability testing, contextual enquiry, rapid research, survey development, and inclusive design
• Maintain awareness of research standards, GDS project phases, MRS code of practice, and GDPR compliance
• Communicate clearly with research participants, including GDPR policies
• Deliver high-quality public services for users in collaboration with clients
• Develop case studies demonstrating successful service design and outcomes
• Support the growth and happiness of the UCD community at Made Tech
