User Researcher - 8 week initial contract with likely extension

Remote with ad hoc travel - Outside IR35

My client is a global IT consultancy seeking a User Researcher to work with a government client on a digital memorial project.

This is a highly sensitive project involving high-level stakeholders.

All applicants must have experience working with sensitive or high-profile stakeholders (e.g., government, judiciary, COBR, Parliament).

Availability to start within two weeks is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand users’ needs, behaviours, and motivations
  • Utilise various user research methods including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and ethnographic studies
  • Analyse research data to generate insights and identify patterns
  • Ensure research is conducted ethically, respecting privacy and consent
  • Follow relevant policies and standards during research
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to incorporate user insights into design and development
  • Advocate for user needs and influence stakeholders to prioritize them
  • Apply GOV.UK service manual, service standards, design principles, and WCAG 2.2 standards
  • Effectively communicate user needs and frustrations through written, visual, and verbal methods
