Role Title: Creative Technologist / User Experience Engineer
Location: London, UK (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH)
Responsibilities:
- UX project planning and execution
- Participate in or lead project meetings with stakeholders to provide technical input and inform project decisions on user experience development
- User experience engineering: implement, develop, and update the user interface by developing and writing code
- Design implementation: support or influence the user experience by developing concepts, providing technical input, and engaging stakeholders
- Creating artifacts for consensus building: develop design documents and specifications
- UX problem analysis: identify and analyze potential risks and obstacles related to user experience and technical issues
- Configure, implement, and update computational design features through coding
- Act as the technical liaison between engineers and designers
- Contribute to or manage projects by integrating UI components and developing new component systems
- Evaluate new technology feasibility and provide feedback to stakeholders
- Develop solutions to improve team efficiency in design, execution, and communication
Skills:
- Proficiency in designing, writing, testing, and maintaining software applications using relevant programming languages
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data, generate solutions, and identify system gaps
- Knowledge of industry trends, product areas, and market developments
- Understanding of design principles, tools, standards, and accessibility guidelines such as WCAG
- Ability to craft compelling stories using data to influence stakeholders
- Understanding human behavior and usability principles for effective design
- Proficiency in developing prototypes from specifications
- Ability to document technical specifications clearly for knowledge transfer
- Knowledge of product development processes and team roles
- Strong meeting management skills, including setting agendas and following up on action items
- Ability to analyze complex systems and consider broader organizational impacts
- Technical knowledge of UX platforms like Android, iOS, and web, and optimization techniques
- Effective communication skills to present and advocate ideas convincingly
