LessonWise is a fast-growing EdTech platform revolutionising private tuition in the UK. We’re on a mission to make high-quality tutoring more accessible by combining expert instruction with a flexible, user-friendly digital experience for students, parents, tutors, and our internal operations team.

The Role

We are looking for a talented UI/UX Designer to lead the design of two high-impact components of our platform. This is a short-term contract role where you will work closely with our internal team to translate functional requirements into exceptional user experiences.

What You’ll Be Designing

An internal admin interface to help our operations team efficiently manage lesson bookings and tutor-student interactions
A customer-facing self-service flow, enabling users to book and pay for lessons independently without staff involvement

Further functional details will be shared with shortlisted candidates.

Key Responsibilities

Work with internal stakeholders to understand user journeys and platform goals
Produce wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using tools like Figma or Adobe XD
Ensure UI components are scalable, developer-ready, and properly annotated for handoff
Create user flows and design systems consistent with the LessonWise brand
Iterate based on internal feedback and ensure designs support performance, clarity, and ease of use

Requirements

3+ years of experience in UI/UX design for SaaS / EdTech platforms or digital products
Proficiency with Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
Ability to balance clean aesthetics with high usability in complex workflows
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

Experience designing admin dashboards or internal booking tools
Knowledge of typical EdTech workflows or tutoring platforms
Familiarity with booking/calendar UX patterns (e.g., Calendly, Acuity)
Experience handing off designs to outsourced development teams
