US West Channel Sales Manager

Reporting Line

Reports to: Commercial Director, GBL GPB

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the indirect sales strategy to create growth through qualified channel partners (e.g., distributors, system integrators, installers) for our division's Automation business in the western US states. You will work closely with local division sales leaders and the Americas Partner Business Director to develop and refine channel partner relationships and drive joint business plans to grow the Automation install base and increase market share.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Define and implement a channel sales strategy to meet order volume and profitability targets.
  2. Segment markets and industries to pursue via direct, indirect, or multi-channel sales efforts, ensuring alignment with local division sales and regional Partner Business teams.
  3. Build a partner network of distributors, system integrators, and sales representatives to cover open white spaces in targeted states and industries, focusing on growing ABB's install base.
  4. Develop a pipeline of channel sales opportunities and manage each opportunity to completion, aligning with the local division sales team on account coverage and engagement tactics.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, industrial engineering, control systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in industrial automation via Distributed Control Systems (DCS) in industries such as Power Generation, Water/Waste Water, Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, Food & Beverage is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in indirect sales or channel management working with technical distributors, system integrators, or installers.
  • Proven ability in business development and account management, with a self-starter attitude capable of driving growth activities independently.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25-50% across the region as needed.
  • Must have valid work authorization for employment in the US.
