About the role:
We are seeking an experienced US Tax Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in US tax laws and regulations, tax planning, compliance and client management. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for a portfolio of US clients and involved in tax projects, providing strategic tax advice, managing compliance processes, and fostering strong client relationships.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of US clients: managing all aspects of the tax compliance and wider relationship management
- Develop and implement tax strategies for clients with cross-border interests between the US and UK.
- Reviewing US tax returns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing proactive tax advice and addressing their needs in a timely and professional manner.
- Support Partners and Directors in providing market-leading advice to US connected clients in the UK.
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively and manage workload distribution to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.
- Work collaboratively with the wider tax team.Skills and expertise:
- US Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is essential.
- A range of previous experience in US tax compliance and advisory services, in owner managed businesses, personal tax, partnerships and - corporate tax is preferred but not required in all areas.
- UK tax technical knowledge is preferred but not required
- Demonstrated experience in managing and coaching staff members
- In-depth knowledge of US and UK tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex tax issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members at all levels.
