Job summary

Harbor is seeking an experienced US Payroll Manager to oversee end-to-end US payroll delivery across a complex client environment, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. The role will initially provide operational continuity for a key client and may transition to other engagements, including payroll improvements or transformation projects.

This remote role can be worked from the UK or US, with a preference for UK candidates who can work hybrid from Nantwich, England.

Qualifications

• Experience managing end-to-end US payroll operations in a multi-client or fast-changing environment.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax and compliance requirements.
• Experience with multi-state payrolls and related reporting obligations.
• Experience coordinating payroll vendors and benefits providers.
• Experience supporting payroll implementations and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of US payroll services.
• Collaborate with senior client stakeholders, payroll vendors, HR, and Finance.
• Support transitions to new client engagements or payroll-improvement projects.
• Leverage automation to strengthen payroll controls and reporting.
