An established industry player is seeking a US Corporate Tax Manager to join their in-house tax team in London. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape tax processes within a fast-growing global commodities business. You will be responsible for delivering a full range of tax services, managing compliance, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in US tax affairs and a passion for continuous learning. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy tackling complex tax issues, this position is perfect for you.
This is a great opportunity for a US corporate tax specialist to join the in-house tax team of a fast-growth global commodities business. Since its founding 10 years ago, the company has grown rapidly and now operates in 80+ countries and across a wide suite of commodities. They are also diversifying into renewable energy projects and have made some high-profile US acquisitions.
As a result of continued growth and expansion into the US market, they are looking to bring a US tax specialist into their existing tax team based in London. The role would suit a US tax generalist with the ability to cover the main tax issues involved in an owner-managed business on both the business side and the investor side: federal and State corporate income tax, sales taxes, K-1 preparation, PFIC analysis, etc. Given the role being the first of its kind, this would also require the person to bring with them enthusiasm to carve out good processes and demonstrate an inquisitive desire to learn about taxes specific to the industry, such as ITCs in renewable power generation developments, CBAM, severance taxes, customs duties, etc.
The role will be "hands-on" in the first instance (return preparation, implementing streamlined processes, etc.) with a chance to build a team depending on the growth of the organisation. As a subject matter expert, you would also add value by working with business leaders to build tax efficiency into transactions, so you need to be comfortable in this area as well as with more traditional compliance activity.
