Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Urological Surgeon with expertise in stone surgery to join the Stones & Endourology team at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford.

The role includes leading a modern, cross-site urology service, contributing to on-call cover and paediatric interests where appropriate, with access to Da Vinci robotics and a strong MDT framework. The post offers a competitive salary and pro rata for part-time working and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent and GMC registration.
• Eligible for GMC Specialist Register within 6 months of CCT.
• ATLS certificate.
• Subspecialist interest in stone surgery.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of a high-quality specialist stone service.
• Assess, diagnose and manage urological conditions.
• Participate in on-call rota and emergency procedures.
• Deliver outpatient, inpatient and operative care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve care.
• Supervise junior staff and contribute to teaching.
