A leading teaching hospital in London is seeking a Urology Registrar to join their dynamic team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for clinical training and involvement in research, with a focus on urological cancers. Ideal for candidates at the ST3 level or those pursuing specialist training. Responsibilities include teaching and engaging with medical students, alongside managing Urology patients.
The Urology Department is divided into 5 teams, (A) Andrology, Penile Cancer, and Reconstruction, (B) Benign Endourology and Stones, (C) Cancer (Robotic) and Robotic Reconstruction - Upper Tract and Pelvic, (D) Functional, Female and General Urology and (E) Emergency. Each team has at least one senior and middle grade position.
These posts are replacement positions across the teams and can commence from May 2025.
The on-call commitment is to the urology department at St George's only on a 1 in 10 registrar of the week (8-5 Mon-Fri and 48 hour weekend NROC from 20.00) and a separate 1 in 10 weekday (NROC) night rota.

Job responsibilities
This post is ideal for someone who is interested in or wants to have a career in Urology through National Selection or perhaps via CESR route, with a particular interest in urological cancers. It is suitable for those at an ST3 level, or those looking for specialist training in an area of subspecialist interest.
There will be opportunity to become involved in clinical research and quality improvement projects at an ICS and / or NHS London level.
The post holder should have completed their General Professional Training and Core Surgical Training (or equivalent), MRCS at least and be registered with the GMC. An interest in research, audit and teaching are desirable. Opportunities for presenting, and publishing papers will be encouraged.
