Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated healthcare support worker to assist in urology outpatient diagnostics and follow-up clinics at Cheltenham General Hospital. You will join the Urology Nurse Practitioner Team in a rapidly expanding unit, with opportunities to contribute to the development of a dedicated Urology Investigations Unit.

Qualifications

• GCSE in English and Mathematics required.
• Desirable: Care certificate completion.
• Desirable: previous health care experience in an acute setting.

Responsibilities

• Undertake delegated tasks including patient observations and personal hygiene.
• Adhere to all Trust policies and procedures.
• Assist Registered Nurse in clinical activities and procedures.
• Support LATP biopsy and flexible cystoscopy clinics to run efficiently.
• Assist patients with self-management of catheter care.
• Assess patient observations and escalate to RN as needed.
• Support TWOC clinics and outpatient urology clinics.
• Perform urine flow tests, dip analysis, and specimen handling as required.
• Maintain infection control and decontamination standards.
