Urgently required! SEMH specialist tutor

Salary: £25 - £35 / Hour
Job type: Permanent
Location: Suffolk

Ackerman Pierce works closely with County Councils to provide one-to-one tutoring for children awaiting school placements. The children we support have complex needs, and we seek experienced SEN / HLTA's / tutors / teachers.

We are recruiting for a KS4 Tutor to support a student in Bungay.

  • Location: Suffolk
  • Position: 1:1 Tutor
  • Start date: ASAP
  • End date: Ongoing until the end of the academic year, with potential extension
  • Contract: Temporary
  • Hours: Up to 3 hours per day, 5 days per week (Monday - Friday)
  • Rate: £25/£35 per hour
  • Term Time Only
  • During School Hours
Candidate requirements:
  • Available during school hours, up to 15 hours per week
  • Experience delivering differentiated curriculum in core subjects
  • Experience working with students with complex needs such as SEMH/ASC/MLD/SpLD
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Willing to work face-to-face in the community

This position is ongoing until the student is placed in a suitable school.

Minimum requirements:
  • Background in teaching English, Maths, Science, or SEN classes from KS2 to KS5
  • QTS or equivalent, or unqualified with two years of experience teaching core subjects
  • Two years of teaching experience in UK schools with SEN pupils
  • Experience with ASD/EBD/SEMH and complex needs
