Job summary

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a permanent Urgent Care Practitioner to join the Urgent Care Team. The role may require cross-site working to meet service needs, including NHS UTCs across Tees Valley.

Essential qualifications include RN/paramedic with NMC/HCPC and a Nursing degree or equivalent. Training in advanced clinical practice and teaching may be provided for the right candidate.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity available for a permanent Urgent Care Practitioner to join our Urgent Care Team. You will be part of a forward thinking and dynamic directorate which may require cross site working to meet the needs of the service, i.e short notice sickness cover. This incorporates the Urgent Treatment Centres based at South Tees Hospital NHS Trust, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and Redcar Urgent Treatment Centre, which forms part of the Tees Valley Alliance.

Main duties of the job

For the right candidate a training role will be considered if they meet the following essential criteria Registered nurse/paramedic with the NMC/HCPC. Degree in Nursing or Registered Paramedic. Clinical Skills Adult or Paediatric and willing to work towards full clinical competency and Recognised Teaching qualification (Facilitation Learning in Clinical Practice or ENB 998).

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in‑house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7

New Starters – Probationary Period

For any new employees commencing employment with South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6 month probationary period. Please note that internal applications and individuals that are appointed to fixed term appointments of less than 6 months duration are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or a bank member of staff).
