Position

Position: Temporary Medical Secretary
Location: Guildford
Start Date: ASAP for a month with possible extension
Working Pattern: Full Time Mon - Fri 8am - 4pm / 9am - 5pm
Hourly Rate: £15.00 - £18.00, depending on experience

About the Role

As a Temporary Medical Secretary, you'll play a vital role in supporting our consultants by providing comprehensive secretarial assistance. Your responsibilities will ensure that our clinic runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Manage consultant diaries accurately, ensuring seamless clinic operations.
  • Act as the primary contact for consultants and patients, handling enquiries and correspondence with professionalism.
  • Process referral letters promptly to prevent delays in patient care.
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate diagnostic results, keeping everyone informed.
  • Maintain complete medical records for consultations and expedite clinic lists to external hospitals when necessary.
  • Work closely with other medical professionals and assist with any administrative functions as directed.

  • Significant secretarial or clerical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong diary and schedule management skills, with an ability to triage referrals efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, paired with a professional telephone manner.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases, with RSA audio typing or equivalent knowledge of medical terminology.
