Job Title: 1:1 Home Tutor

Location: NG24

Hours: 6 hours per week (potential increase to 15 hours based on engagement)

Pay: £32 per hour

Randstad Tuition Services are looking for a 1:1 Home Tutor to provide tailored support for a young child before they transition to a specialist school later this year. This role requires a compassionate and patient individual who can engage the child through a combination of therapeutic and play-based learning before introducing academic tuition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualised, child-centred tutoring in a home setting.
• Build a trusting and supportive relationship to encourage engagement.
• Use play-based and therapeutic approaches to support emotional and social development.
• Adapt learning strategies to meet the child's specific needs and interests.
• Introduce academic tuition once engagement and confidence improve.
• Monitor progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Work closely with parents/carers to ensure a consistent and supportive approach.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience working with children with SEN and SEMH needs.
• Experience using alternative communication styles with children.
• A patient, nurturing, and creative approach to learning.
• DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Ability to use therapeutic and play-based techniques to build engagement.

Desirable Requirements:

• BSL (British Sign Language) qualification or knowledge.
• Experience working within an educational or therapeutic setting.
• Driving License.
