We are seeking dynamic and skilled cliniciansto join our multidisciplinary Urgent Care team. This is a fantastic opportunityto work in a fast-paced environment that combines clinical autonomy with peersupport. The post-holders will attend to patientspresenting with either a booked appointment or an unscheduled care need,providing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and advice on their continuingmedical and care needs.
You will be working alongside a diverse andexperienced team including General Practitioners, Advanced ClinicalPractitioners, Paramedic Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, and Trainee ACPs.This setting offers the perfect balance, empowering you to make independentclinical decisions while being surrounded by colleagues for support, casediscussion, and shared learning.

You will be assessing, diagnosing, and managing a wide range ofpresentations including minor illness, minor injury, and pediatric conditionsdepending on your area of expertise.Minor injury experience is desirable however, for the right candidate, teachingand support can be provided to develop these skills within our team.
Blackpool Urgent Treatment Centres are services delivered by Bloomfield Medical Ltd.Both Urgent Treatment Centres are open access services based in the HealthCentre on Whitegate Drive and co-located with Blackpool Teaching HospitalsEmergency Department. The Urgent Treatment Centres aims are to deliver convenientaccessible primary care services and are open every day of the year. BlackpoolUrgent Treatment Centre is open from 8am to 8pm and Blackpool Victoria UrgentTreatment Centre is open 8am 10pm.
The successful candidate will work acrossall sites, as required depending on patient demand, and the candidates skillsand experience.
Clinical Responsibilities (AllPractitioners)
Assess, diagnose, treat,and advise patients presenting with a wide range of minor illness and injurypresentations, ensuring safe, evidence-based, and person-centred care in linewith individual scope of practice.
Perform relevant clinicalprocedures, including collection of pathology samples and minor interventions,as trained and competent.
Ensure clinical practiceremains safe, within scope, and escalated appropriately when limits arereached.
Maintain up-to-date andaccurate clinical records and documentation, using appropriate systems.
Keep up to date withmandatory training.
Contribute to patient flowby supporting appropriate streaming, clinical prioritisation, and safethroughput.
Band 8a practitioners may also:
Take a lead in mentoringand coaching team members across the service.
Lead on clinical audits,service evaluation, and implementation of new clinical protocols or guidelines.
Assist in recruitment,appraisal processes, and ongoing professional development within the team.
Act as a shift lead orsenior decision-maker, maintaining oversight of safety, flow, and clinicalescalation (once ready).
Support team learning bycontributing to debriefs, case discussions, or reflective learning.
Promote adherence toclinical governance, safety standards, and best practice.
