Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a multidisciplinary team. You will assess care needs, develop and evaluate care programmes, and ensure high-quality patient care.

The role includes initiating investigations, establishing differential diagnoses, and discharging patients when appropriate. Responsibilities include supervising junior staff in MINTS when the Team Leader is absent, plus maintaining clear communication with patients and the wider team.

Qualifications

• Nurse registered with NMC and revalidation.
• Degree level education or working towards.
• Graduate Certificate in Urgent Care or equivalent.
• Mints Major / Minor Injury or Emergency Nurse Practitioner qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care for patients to ensure delivery of a high standard of care.
• Assessment of presenting conditions, initiation of investigations, determination of differential diagnosis, initiate treatment and where appropriate discharge patients.
• Review treatment plans developed by other less experienced staff to confirm differential diagnosis and advise discharge/referral.
• In absence of the Team Leader for MINTS the post holder will have responsibility for the management of the MINTS Service including supervision, development and deployment of junior staff.
• The working pattern for this role is 12 hour long days including weekends. No nightshifts.
