Job summary

DHU Healthcare is seeking a salaried GP to join its Urgent and Emergency Care teams. The role focuses on assessing, diagnosing and managing patients with urgent undifferentiated illness and minor injuries, using clinical tests and imaging where authorised.

Full GMC registration, licence to practise and NHS Performers List inclusion are required. The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team providing care around the clock, with opportunities for flexible working and professional

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
• Completion of GP training or equivalent experience appropriate to the role.
• Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
• Inclusion on the NHS Performers List.
• Experience in general practice or urgent care settings.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients with urgent undifferentiated illness and minor injuries.
• Take clinical histories and examine patients to make evidence-based decisions.
• Request and interpret investigations including ECGs and point-of-care tests.
• Prescribe and provide treatment within policy and competence.
• Escalate to ED or specialty care when needed.
• Provide discharge information and safety netting.
• Contribute to clinical governance and learning.
• Report incidents and participate in reviews.
• Support safe patient flow with colleagues across teams.
