Job description

Location: This position is located at Unit MS6 Cranbourne St, Brighton, BN12RG, United Kingdom.

Role Summary: The main objective of this role is to assume total department accountability for sales, service profitability, and loss prevention. The role involves fostering a creative store environment that inspires the Urban Outfitters customer, providing feedback and guidance for employee development, assisting senior management with store operations, building community relationships that reflect Urban culture, and upholding the 'Peers Teaching Peers' philosophy.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Recruit, motivate, develop, and lead a store team.
  • Manage performance development including appraisals, development plans, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
  • Recognize and develop talent for advancement within the organization.
  • Uphold company standards and act as a positive role model.

Leadership & Communication:

  • Inspire and motivate teamwork.
  • Conduct daily meetings to meet goals.
  • Delegate projects effectively, encouraging creativity.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills.

Managing the Environment:

  • Oversee customer service and set daily goals.
  • Train and coach staff on service, standards, product placement, and time management.
  • Achieve mystery shop standards.

Operations:

  • Perform operational procedures accurately and timely.
  • Achieve stock loss goals through loss prevention practices.
  • Uphold health & safety regulations.

Merchandising & Display:

  • Manage departmental aspects with the Visual Merchandising Manager.
  • Interpret fashion trends to generate creative solutions.
  • Ensure well-organized and scheduled floor sets.

Commercial Awareness:

  • Maximize sales through merchandise management.
  • Use reports to respond to trends.
  • Stay updated on trends and customer profiles.
  • Manage stock levels considering store environment.
  • Drive store targets with entrepreneurial skills.

Experience & Skills:

  • Management experience in a fast-paced, high-volume fashion retail environment.
  • Strong operational skills.
  • Understanding of Urban Outfitters culture and market appeal.
  • Ability to drive sales through service, presentation, and business understanding.
