As a Senior Urban Designer, you are innovative and passionate, with excellent concept schemes, an understanding of technical delivery, and master planning experience in the UK and internationally.

What You Will Do

Successful candidates will focus on master planning projects in the UK and internationally, gaining exposure to a broad range of design disciplines within our portfolio, including architecture, interiors, graphic/industrial design, and consulting.

1. Provide leadership in conceptual design for master planning, urban design, and architecture projects, from feasibility to detailed design.
2. Develop visions for placemaking, creating new communities, and developing new cities.
3. Work across sectors such as mixed-use, commercial, residential, hospitality, retail, and education as part of a multidisciplinary team.
4. Illustrate and present design solutions effectively through hand sketching and CAD to convey visions to clients, including architectural solutions.
5. Lead submissions of design work and planning documentation, including access statements and design guidelines.
6. Lead thought leadership initiatives, research, and share findings internally and externally.
7. Collaborate with teams, clients, stakeholders, and consultants to meet project objectives.
8. Manage presentations and production of planning and urban design projects.
9. Communicate effectively with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders.
10. Work closely with directors and project teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery within budget.

Your Qualifications

• Degree and master’s in urban design or planning.
• 10+ years’ experience as an Urban Designer.
• Thorough understanding of UK and international planning standards.
• Proven experience in creative collaboration across disciplines, from concept to later stages.
• Passion for diverse urban design and masterplanning projects across sectors.
• Strong communication skills, including sketching and proficiency in Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, and 3DS Max.
• Experience in parametric design applications.
• Excellent collaboration, organization, and teamwork skills.
• GIS mapping and database skills are preferred.
