Job Title: Urban Beekeeper

Location: London (onsite)

Position Type: Full time, 40 hours a week, Mondays to Fridays

Starting date: Seasonal contract from March 2025 to end of November 2025

About You

Reporting to the Beekeeping Operations Manager, the Urban Beekeeper manages client accounts and their honeybee or other services. This is a full-time role aligned with Alvéole’s policies.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Interest in pollinators, beekeeping, urban greening, or ESG
• Valid driver’s license for over 3 years with a clean record; comfortable driving in cities (role based in East London, working across London and surrounding areas)
• Comfortable with beekeeping hazards (stings, heavy lifting, weather)
• Ability to lift up to 25 kilos
• Legally authorized to work in the UK
• Comfortable working at heights (training provided)
• Proficient with online tools like Gmail, Google Workspace, Slack
• Public speaking or group presentation skills
• Willing to work early mornings or late evenings seasonally
• Results-driven, autonomous, resourceful, adaptable to change
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Start-up mentality; willing to be involved in all aspects of the business
• Ability to work independently and in teams, including remotely

Responsibilities

Client Experience

• Follow SOPs to ensure quality service and client satisfaction
• Build relationships with clients via in-person and online platforms
• Manage client accounts, onboarding, communication, engagement, and feedback
• Oversee projects related to honey beehives, pollinator gardens, etc., including installation and maintenance
• Represent Alvéole’s mission and passion publicly

City Expansion

• Manage facilities, apiaries, and logistics with international teams
• Support sales efforts through canvassing, site visits, and referrals
• Meet goals set by management and communicate regularly for planning and support
• Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned, respecting budget constraints

Beekeeping & Urban Greening

• Maintain beehives and support bee health throughout the season
• Adhere to best practices and keep detailed records
• Contribute to urban greening expertise development
• Drive to client sites and maintain equipment
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
