Job summary

YTL UK is seeking an Upstream Leakage Engineer to support leakage reduction and network resilience across the upstream water distribution network. You will perform leakage investigations, surveys, analyse data and assist with repairs in a predominantly field-based role.

You will work with the Senior Upstream Leakage Engineer to deliver targets, engage stakeholders, and explore new technologies and equipment trials while pursuing development towards a Level 3 Water Industry Network Technician

Qualifications

• Experience in leakage reduction or related water network role with a track record of achieving results.
• Knowledge of upstream water distribution networks, pressure management and leakage detection methods.
• Ability to interpret network data to support operational decision-making.
• Good commercial awareness for cost-efficient detection and repair activities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out upstream leakage investigations and surveys to identify unaccounted-for water and unknown connections.
• Support leakage reduction and network resilience targets across the upstream network.
• Analyse network data, including upstream flows and portable logging, to identify issues.
• Assist with leakage repair activities and communicate with stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
• Plan and deliver leakage detection surveys using industry techniques and technologies.
• Support equipment trials and implementation of leakage detection solutions.
• Make informed risk-based decisions balancing leakage reduction and customer impact.
• Collaborate with the Senior Upstream Leakage Engineer on continuous improvement.
