Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Unscheduled Care Nurse to join our Primary Care Team at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, a Category B Prison located in London.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients, without compromising on efficiency and quality.

Hours

The site currently offers a 24-hour service.

• Days: Monday to Sunday - 07:30 - 19:45
• Nights: Monday to Sunday - 19:45 - 07:30

There will be an expectation to work alternate weekends.

Requirements:

• NMC Registered Nurse (Adult)

Experience in a hospital or prison environment is desirable but not essential.

Main Duties

As an Unscheduled Care Nurse, you will attend emergency situations across the prison, assess patients, and ensure follow-up care.

• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions.
• Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
• Provide outstanding evidence-based care, seeking feedback and personalizing care accordingly.
• Deliver non-judgmental, impactful care.
• Forge strong links with partners and stakeholders.
• Promote best practice, clinical supervision, and continuous quality improvement.
