Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for Primary Care Nurse to join our Unscheduled Care Team at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, a Category B Prison located in London. In this role you will have the opportunity to provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients, without having to compromise on efficiency and quality.

Hours

The site currently offers a 24-hour service.

  • Days: 07:30 - 19:45
  • Nights: 19:45 - 07:30
  • Predominantly working days; night shifts will be required to cover sickness and annual leave. An expectation to work a maximum of 2 weekends per month is also required.
Salary

This position is full time, you\'ll receive an annual salary up to £55,086 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As an Unscheduled Care Nurse you will attend emergency response situations across the prison, assess patients and ensure that follow up care is implemented. You will:

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions.
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
  • Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference.
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders.
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
