About the Role:

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Unqualified Teaching Assistants to join a fantastic SEN school in Cardiff. This is an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people who require additional support in their education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored support to students with various special educational needs.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support during lessons and activities.
  • Help maintain a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Support students' social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff.
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom activities and resources.
  • Encourage independence and confidence in students.

The School:

  • The school caters to children and young people aged 3 to 19 with a wide range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
  • Pupils are taught in small class sizes, usually not exceeding 10 students, with a high staff-to-student ratio, ensuring personalised support.
  • The school is committed to providing a child-centred, empowering, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Learning approaches include sensory activities, practical lessons, and structured individual development plans.

What We’re Looking For:

  • No formal qualifications required, but experience in a similar role or working with children is preferred.
  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to travel to Bridgend and be available during school hours (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM).
