This is an established independent Alternative Provision (AP) in Barnoldswick, providing tailored educational and pastoral support to young people who require a different approach to learning. We are committed to fostering a safe, engaging, and inspiring environment where every student can learn, grow, and succeed.

We are expanding our team and seeking both unqualified and qualified professionals who are dedicated to making a significant impact on the lives of our students.

The Roles: Education Support Staff / Alternative Provision Educators

We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and resourceful individuals to join us in various capacities, from supporting students one-to-one or in small groups, to delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of subjects. Your primary focus will be to build positive relationships, understand individual learning styles, and provide an inclusive and nurturing educational experience.

Key Responsibilities (may vary based on role and experience):

  • Delivering tailored educational activities and lessons, adapting to diverse learning needs.
  • Providing pastoral support, mentoring, and guidance to students.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of individual learning plans.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback.
  • Collaborating effectively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external agencies.
  • Managing challenging behaviours with empathy and effective strategies.

We're Looking For:

Unqualified / Entry-Level Education Support Staff:

  • A genuine passion for working with young people who face complex challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Patience, empathy, and a resilient approach to challenging situations.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, keen to learn and develop new skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A demonstrable commitment to personal development, teamwork, and leadership, such as those cultivated through achieving any level of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, is highly valued. Tell us how your DofE experience has equipped you with the determination, problem-solving skills, and resilience needed for this rewarding role.

Qualified Alternative Provision Educators / Teachers:

  • Proven experience working with young people who may have special educational needs, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, or those who have experienced exclusion.
  • A deep understanding of differentiated learning strategies and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Strong classroom management skills with a focus on positive behaviour support.
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across a broad curriculum.
  • Individuals who have achieved the Duke of Edinburgh's Award are particularly encouraged to apply, as we recognise the strong alignment between the award's emphasis on perseverance, initiative, and community engagement, and the qualities essential for success in alternative provision.

What We Offer:

  • The immense satisfaction of truly making a difference in young people's lives.
  • A supportive, collaborative, and dedicated team environment.
  • Opportunities for continuous professional development and training relevant to AP
