This role is ideal for individuals seeking to gain teaching experience and who have prior experience running sessions in PE, life skills, or pastoral care with young people.
You will be responsible for delivering lessons to students aged 11-16 years. Class sizes are small, typically 6-10 students. All students have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP), which you can refer to while teaching. The timetable includes approximately 14 lessons covering PE, Cover slots, PSHE, and some Science sessions for 11-16-year-olds.
Some students may come from disadvantaged backgrounds or have mental health challenges that can lead to challenging behaviors. You should be prepared to manage such behaviors and provide mentoring and pastoral support.
