Job summary

Career Teachers UK is seeking a Primary Cover Teacher to support Years 1-6 at a large primary in Leicester. The post is full-time from January 2025, with duties including covering PPA and absences across the school; planning is provided, with marking expected.

Successful candidates will meet the Professional Standards for Teachers, contribute to the school ethos, and work closely with a dedicated team to raise pupils’ standards. ECTs and NQTs are encouraged to apply.

Our partner school is a large primary school set in the heart of the community that it serves. The children have very positive attitudes to their learning and a distinct pride in the school. Staff and governors are dedicated, hard-working and absolutely committed to providing the best possible education for children.

You will be supporting in different classes covering PPA and absence across the school. Work will be planned, but marking will be expected.

As part of this role, you will be required to:

• meet the Professional Standards for Teachers;
• play a full part in the life of the school community and support its ethos, values and aims.

The successful candidate must:

• be an excellent classroom practitioner, in terms of planning, challenging gifted pupils, supporting special needs and creatively organising the learning environment;
• have high expectations and a commitment to raising standards and achievements;
• have recent teaching experience in key stages 2;
• have a secure knowledge and understanding of the primary framework and pedagogy;
• be passionate about the development of the whole child.
