Position: Unqualified Music Teacher (Nursery to Year 6)
Status: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 32.5 hours per week (8:30am - 3:30pm)
Salary: £27,252 - £39,417
Location: Primary School Setting

Role Overview

As Unqualified Music Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering inspiring music education across the primary age range (Nursery to Year 6). The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the school's curriculum leaders to foster musical appreciation and skills development throughout the school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and age-appropriate music lessons to pupils from Nursery to Year 6
  • Collaborate with senior teaching staff to implement the music curriculum
  • Spearhead musical performances and assemblies throughout the academic year
  • Develop and lead lunchtime and after-school music clubs
  • Nurture musical talent and encourage participation from all pupils
  • Assist with maintenance and organisation of musical instruments and resources
  • Support the assessment of pupil progress in music
  • Contribute to cross-curricular initiatives incorporating music
  • Play an integral role in school concerts, productions and community events

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrable musical expertise with relevant qualifications and/or significant practical experience
  • Natural ability to engage and inspire young learners
  • Experience of working with children in some capacity
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Genuine passion for music education and child development
  • Professional music background or formal music qualifications
  • Experience within educational environments
  • Proficiency across multiple instruments
  • Familiarity with music technology and digital composition tools
