Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an enthusiastic Unqualified Maths Teacher for a full-time long-term supply post in Northampton, starting November 2026. This role offers a route to permanent positions, with support from an experienced education consultant.

You will teach Maths to KS3/KS4, developing students’ skills and confidence while benefiting from CPD opportunities and school guidance.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mathematics or a related subject is required or strong demonstrable Maths subject knowledge.
• Experience tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work, or education is desirable.
• Willingness to progress toward formal teacher training (PGCE/SCITT or school-based).
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

Responsabilités

• Deliver engaging Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Use school resources and lesson plans to support learning.
• Help students develop mathematical knowledge, fluency and problem-solving skills.
• Create a positive, calm learning environment and manage behaviour.
• Work with experienced teachers and support staff; contribute to intervention programmes.
• Engage in professional development and take part in wider school life.

Salary: 100- 165 per day, depending on experience and school requirements

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a supportive secondary school in Northampton that is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Unqualified Maths Teacher to join their team from November 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Maths graduate, aspiring teacher, tutor, teaching assistant, or experienced educator who is looking to gain valuable classroom experience and develop their teaching skills within a supportive school environment.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers, develop your classroom practice, and gain valuable experience before progressing towards formal teacher training.

The Role

• Deliver engaging and well-structured Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Use school-provided resources and lesson plans to support effective teaching and learning.
• Help students develop their mathematical knowledge, confidence, fluency, and problem-solving skills.
• Create a positive, calm, and purposeful learning environment.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of students with different abilities and learning needs.
• Support students with their classwork, homework, revision, and exam preparation.
• Build positive and professional relationships with students.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and consistently.
• Work collaboratively with experienced teachers and support staff.
• Contribute to intervention and catch-up programmes where required.
• Take an active role in the wider life of the school.
• Engage with professional development opportunities to further develop your teaching practice.

What We're Looking For

• A degree in Mathematics or a related subject, or strong demonstrable Maths subject knowledge.
• Experience working with young people through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work, or education is desirable.
• The confidence and communication skills to engage effectively with secondary-aged students.
• A positive, patient, and adaptable approach.
• The ability to establish clear expectations and maintain positive behaviour.
• Strong organisational skills and a reliable approach to work.
• A genuine passion for Mathematics and education.
• A willingness to learn, develop, and take feedback from experienced teaching professionals.
• An interest in progressing towards a formal teaching qualification such as PGCE, SCITT, or school-based teacher training.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
