Job Title: Secondary Cover Supervisor (Unqualified)
Location: Gloucester
Contract Type: Permanent / Temporary / Part-Time

Are you confident, reliable, and great at working with young people? We are looking for an enthusiastic Unqualified Cover Supervisor to join our team in Trowbridge. Whether you're a recent graduate, former teaching assistant, sports coach, youth worker-or simply someone with the right presence and passion-this could be the perfect step into education.

In this role, you'll step into classrooms across Key Stages 3 and 4 when teachers are absent. Your job will be to keep lessons running smoothly using prepared materials and ensure students remain focused and engaged.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising pre-set lessons across a range of secondary school subjects
  • Managing classroom behaviour using school policies and support
  • Encouraging a positive and focused learning environment
  • Supporting students with their learning where appropriate
  • Taking initiative and adapting to different classrooms and routines
  • Logging attendance and brief feedback for teaching staff
Requirements
  • A confident, professional attitude and strong classroom presence
  • Great communication skills and the ability to relate to young people
  • A calm, resilient approach to managing behaviour
  • Good time management and organisational abilities
  • Previous experience working with young people (e.g. in schools, clubs, youth work, sports) is beneficial but not essential
  • A genuine interest in education and helping students succeed
