University Language Teacher in Spanish

Open ended and part-time at Loughborough University, starting in September 2025

Loughborough University’s Language Centre team of 12 teachers delivers credit-bearing modules and extra-curricular courses to non-specialist students from across the University in French, German, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish, from beginner through to degree level. Our dynamic small-group teaching receives high levels of positive feedback from students, and we are always seeking to improve and evolve.

We are currently looking for a part-time professional educator to join our Spanish team from 1st September 2025.

Applicants should be native or near-native speakers of Spanish with firsthand experience of at least one Spanish-speaking culture, solid pedagogical competence, and a commitment to delivering stimulating classes that engage students and actively help them achieve positive learning outcomes. Prior experience of successfully delivering courses and the ability to contribute to teamwork are essential, as you will collaborate with other teachers on shared modules.

Most work hours are concentrated during the academic term, teaching 8-10 hours per week. Classes are usually scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during university semesters, mainly between 9 am and 2 pm. This schedule may vary depending on specific duties and future adjustments.
