Job summary

Sodexo Ltd. is seeking a skilled Plumber to join our Hard FM Services team supporting Northumbria University in Gateshead and surrounding sites. You’ll deliver planned, reactive and compliance-related maintenance across the university estate while ensuring safe, comfortable living and learning environments.

You’ll work on hot and cold-water systems, plumbing fixtures, and CAFM updates, participate in an on-call rota, and maintain high standards of customer service in occupied buildings.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Plumbing & Heating or City & Guilds Level 3 Plumbing.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
• Experience in planned and reactive maintenance environments.
• IPAF/PASMA certifications and First Aid at Work are desirable.
• Experience in university, student accommodation or large facilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on plumbing and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing faults quickly and effectively.
• Maintain hot and cold-water systems, sanitaryware, pipework, pumps and showers.
• Respond to leaks, blockages, water outages and breakdowns; support water hygiene and legionella compliance.
• Complete plumbing upgrades and minor installation projects; update CAFM records.
• Work in occupied student residences and academic facilities; participate in 24/7 on-call rota.
