Job summary

Deloitte - Recruitment in Leeds or Sheffield is seeking a Universal Underwriter (Operations) on a hybrid basis. The contract role runs initially for 6 months with a daily rate competitive and Inside IR35. Start ASAP and work toward robust lending decisions for retail banking customers.

You will assess financial circumstances, make credit decisions, identify fraud, and collaborate across teams to enhance the customer journey while ensuring regulatory compliance and risk controls.

We’re looking for a Universal Underwriter (Operations) tojoin a leading UK financial services organisation, supporting its retailbanking customers and playing a key role in responsible lending decisions.

The role

As a Universal Underwriter, you’ll be responsible forassessing customers’ financial circumstances when they apply for lendingfacilities and making well-reasoned, responsible and evidence-based creditdecisions.

You’ll also work closely with colleagues across the businessto improve the customer journey, manage risk and ensure customers receiveappropriate outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assessing customer financial circumstances andlending applications
