Job Title: Universal Grinder

Shift: Days, Monday - Friday

Rate: GBP18 - 20 p/h, negotiable depending on experience.

We are seeking a skilled universal Grinder to join the team in Atherstone. As a Setter/Operator you will be responsible for operating and maintaining grinding machines to grind precision components in a variety of materials and sizes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate grinding machines to grind to tight tolerances
• Select appropriate grinding wheels and fixtures based on job requirements
• Inspect components for defects and ensure they meet quality standards
• Use hand tools to adjust machine settings and make necessary adjustments during the grinding process
• Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments as needed
• Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines to keep them in good working condition
• Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment

Requirements

• Experience in operating surface and universal grinding machines
• Knowledge of tooling and ability to select appropriate grinding wheels and fixtures
• Ability to read component drawings to a good standard
• Basic maths skills for measuring
• Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
