About the team/division

Our goal is to build and implement a scalable and agile operating model that allows our business to shrink and grow in line with market conditions. The operations team provides efficient support to London Market Underwriters, working closely with them to understand, communicate, and facilitate operational needs, while driving process improvements.

We are a team of around 18 employees offering underwriting support. We value continuous improvement, creativity, and proactive problem-solving to enhance service quality and efficiency.

Team members are encouraged to share ideas, and we respect established processes while allowing room for innovation.

What you'll be doing in the role

  • Managing a team of 4 Underwriting Assistants & 2 Operations Analysts, mainly supporting Property and Crisis Management divisions.
  • Acting as the operations point person for your teams, championing best practices and reliability.
  • Developing our Analyst working model using agile practices.
  • Fostering team spirit, developing individuals, managing performance, and providing feedback.
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Contributing to the London Market operations strategy.
  • Supporting change projects impacting underwriting teams.
  • Coordinating with other business functions to manage work impacting underwriting teams.

The Candidate

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in people management, stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, and a passion for process improvement and agile practices. Insurance experience is preferred but not essential.

Must haves

  • At least 4 years in operations-focused roles.
  • Experience in people management and development.
  • Process improvement skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Problem-solving aptitude.
  • Deadline-oriented and proactive approach.
