Underwriting Manager

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marsh Portfolio Solutions (MPS) team at Marsh. As an Underwriting Manager, you will take on a unique position within MPS, managing the overall facility and a junior team member. You will ensure that our binding authority is managed in line with Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) procedures, regulatory requirements, and best practices, while also fostering relationships with the Casualty Facility Insurer and the Bowring Marsh Casualty Practice.

We will count on you to:

1. Ensure that individual risks are bound promptly and in accordance with the Delegated Underwriting Authority and review efficiencies regularly.
2. Ensure full compliance with the Delegated Authority from insurers.
3. Provide training to the transactional placement team on Technical Underwriting.
4. Build relationships with senior stakeholders, Bowring Marsh Casualty Practice brokers, and Senior Brokers across the Marsh global network, including attending regular meetings.
5. Execute due diligence and internal/external audit processes for delegated authority relationships, ensuring adherence to risk and compliance frameworks.
6. Track and achieve all KPIs and SLAs for contractual obligations.

What you need to have:

• Proven experience working within Casualty insurance from an Underwriting, Broking, or Claims background.
• Comprehensive understanding of London insurance market dynamics and core processes.
• Technical insurance knowledge on Casualty Insurance (International/US).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

What makes you stand out:

• Experience using the Placing Platform Limited (PPL) or Whitespace when placing risks.
• Experience in handling delegated authority business is beneficial.
