Job summary

ACIN Recruit is assisting an established specialty insurance business in London to appoint an Underwriting Assistant to support the Political & Financial Risk team. You will gain exposure to technical underwriting processes, broker relationships and the wider operations of a leading Lloyd's market platform.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative support to the Political & Financial Risk underwriting team, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with underwriters, brokers and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the development and improvement of underwriting processes, procedures and administrative practices.
• Liaise with other business functions to ensure consistency across underwriting systems and processes.
• Maintain accurate, accessible and timely underwriting information and documentation.
• Support compliance with relevant Lloyd's standards, internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with relevant Conduct Risk and Consumer Duty processes, including the timely escalation of complaints where appropriate.
• Maintain awareness of data protection obligations and ensure information is handled in accordance with GDPR requirements.
• Take responsibility for ongoing technical learning, professional development and progression towards relevant insurance qualifications.
